A card and an update

Hey gorgeous peeps,

So today  I  have a card to share with you all. I was inspired by two blogs. Firstly  Try Stampin’ on Tuesday  and then Die Cut Divas. T.S.o.T. has a tic tac on Tuesdays. For this card I decided on black, heart and red. I really enjoyed the making of this card. I especially love the paper pieced heart. The Gorjuss girl is coloured in copics. Which I deliberately kept muted.  I wanted to try new colours to me. Usually I go for bright and tend to have a lot of blues, greens and aqua tones.  I tried to match her to some of the coloured hearts on the background.  The stamped hearts and sentiment are from Hero Arts.  I coloured the two small red hearts with my brand new watercolour pens.  Which is also the theme from Die Cut Divas. The challenge is Do or Use Something New. I figure between using my new pens and trying new colours I have met the challenge.

So as you probably guessed my “Command Centre” has had a mini make over. The whiteboard/corkboard fell off the wall again. Partly because command hooks don’t like extremely hot days and the board was already broken. So I replaced it with the blackboard. I added magnets to the top so I could still keep my week at a glance page handy as well as my shopping list holder (which also got a make over). I’m slowly organising the office, which means I finally have just the right spot for that wooden trolley.  It makes a great storage spot for folders and a temporary home for my ferals school supplies for the year. Next week those boxes wll be gone, so I am planning to put some nice baskets there for storage.  I’m still deciding where  to hang the ballerina painting my Mum made. I might see if the youngest feral would like it in her room.

The Gorjuss girl painting, I made using my new watercolour pens.  Having very limited experience in watercolouring I feel that I did well.  I painted the background first on water colour paper, then set it aside to dry.  I stamped the image on another piece of paper and coloured her in using the pens.  I fussy cut her out and glued her to the background.  I stamped the birds directly onto the back ground and coloured them with the pens.  I hand wrote the sentiment. I was so pleased with the way the picture turned out I had to hang it up straight away.

Well gorgeous peeps,  thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great week, hugs Paula.

  1. The card is beautiful Paula and certainly fits the criteria for Die Cut Divas. Great to see you join us. Your painting is AMAZING! It looks stunning framed up.
